Are you open to non residents?
We certainly are! You are welcome to visit for coffee, lunch, tea or dinner or even just a stroll through the grounds and you don't even have to stay with us.
Are your grounds open to the public?
If you would just like to wander through the grounds you are most welcome to do so and we do not make a charge. Groups are only accepted by prior arrangement. Guided tours by our Head Gardener are available with advance notice although we do make a charge for this service.
Do you have car parking?
We have space for up to 200 cars at the hotel.
Can I charge my electric car at Great Fosters?
Yes. We have two charging points, one for Tesla vehicles and one for other electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids with a Type 2 inlet.
Are we able to buy information on the history of the hotel?
We have information on the history of the hotel and do not make a charge. You can view it here.
Is the chef able to cater for special dietary requirements?
Of course! We are delighted to cater for diabetics, coeliacs, vegetarians and most other special diets. Advance notice is always appreciated, particularly for afternoon tea. Kosher food can also be arranged with 72 hours notice.
Do you cater for children?
Children are made to feel very welcome. Some rooms can take extra beds so younger children can share their parents' room. A charge of £50, which includes full English breakfast is made for extra beds. The Nursery suite can accommodate up to two extra beds and two Coach House bedrooms interconnect. We have a number of cots available to hire; please request when making your reservation. We can make smaller portions of some of the dishes on the menu and chef is always happy to cook pasta or 'simpler' food when requested. We can usually arrange a babysitter with 24 hours notice. Most rooms have a fridge and we are always happy to warm milk for your younger visitors. Children, who are resident in the hotel, are welcome to use the pool as long as they are supervised.
What are your check in and check out times?
Your room will be ready for you from 3pm. You are welcome to arrive earlier and we will gladly store your luggage and transfer it to your room as soon as it is ready. If it is essential that you have access to your room prior to 3pm please reserve it for the night before. Our check out time is prior to 11am.
Do you offer room service?
Room service is available 24 hours a day, although a more limited menu is available between the hours of 10pm and 7am. A charge of £3 per person is made for any meals served in your room.
Is the swimming pool open to non residents?
Our pool is only open to guests staying in the hotel. Guests staying the night are welcome to use the pool up until 1pm on the day of departure.
Do you have a gym?
Unfortunately we do not currently have a gym at the hotel but we have an outdoor heated swimming pool which it open from May until September. We are happy to suggest a jogging route should you wish to go for a run.
What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is served from 7 - 9.45am.
