The Anne Boleyn Room
| |
The crowning feature of this charming sitting
room is its exceptional plaster ceiling depicting the emblems
of the Tudors and Queen Anne Boleyn (whose arms are now the
emblem of Great Fosters). The ceiling is thought to date
to post 1600, and is believed to commemorate some connection
Anne Boleyn may have had with the house. A small room at
the far end was once the chapel, with a secret priests
staircase leading to the Tapestry Room above.
